Charlie Humber’s lifelong fascination with design and construction began as young man renovating older homes alongside his father in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated with a degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design in 1996 and began his career doing drafting for an architecture firm. He expanded his experience into production management on projects at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and rounded out his skill set by becoming proficient in framing and finish carpentry.
Charlie obtained his home builder’s license in 2010 and worked with Joshua Dean at Appleseed Workshop (now Creature) as a Project Manager for their design-build residential division. Shortly after marrying his wife Kelly, he relocated to the Tampa, Florida area to continue working in residential construction and started his own company in 2016.
After 10 fulfilling years renovating vacation homes on the barrier islands, Charlie, Kelly and their daughter, Joie, returned to Birmingham area to be nearer to family. Charlie joined Precision Homecrafters’ in 2022 and was named Vice President of Design in 2023. He is excited about embracing the challenges of integrating design into residential projects and working alongside clients to create spaces for their families.
