This outdoor living remodel in Homewood’s Edgewood neighborhood centers around a timber-framed deck ceiling that transforms the existing deck into a usable, sheltering, and architecturally warm gathering space. The project also addressed long-standing accessibility challenges created by years of piecemeal additions.
Precision Homecrafters redesigned the exterior circulation to make daily movement easier and safer for the homeowners. A covered carport and protected walkway now offer weather-safe access from the driveway to the main entrance. A custom steel bridge links the back deck to the loft apartment above the garage, creating a more direct and accessible connection between the two levels.
The highlight of the renovation is the new timber-framed deck ceiling, designed to add shade, protection, and visual cohesion. The exposed timbers introduce a lodge-inspired warmth that fits naturally into Edgewood’s tree-canopied surroundings and makes the outdoor area comfortable in more seasons.
The completed project brings unity, accessibility, and year-round usability to a home that had previously felt disconnected—delivering a practical, beautiful upgrade that will serve the owners well for years to come.
