ALABAMA’S MOST-AWARDED DESIGN/BUILD FIRM

HOW IT WORKS

The Home Renovation Process

As a premier design/build firm, your journey with us starts with a dedicated focus on understanding your vision and the unique challenges your home presents. Our home renovation process is meticulously crafted to meet your specific needs and bring your vision to life.

Our commitment to excellence begins with active listening, and we invest time in dialogue and ideation, ensuring a shared understanding of your project’s scope. This initial phase allows us to collaborate effectively and translate your dreams into reality through our trusted (and fun!) design process.

Our design/build process is not just about construction; it’s about creating living spaces that resonate with your lifestyle and aspirations. Welcome to a partnership defined by precision, innovation, and a shared commitment to bringing your dreams to life.

Step One: Consultation

The initial step in our process is the Consultation. Over the phone we’ll discuss your project goals to get a comprehensive understanding of your needs. We’ll talk about our capabilities and process and answer your questions, fostering mutual understanding and establishing the foundation for a stellar working relationship. This phase enables us to mutually assess compatibility and provide some preliminary budget guidance for your consideration. If we are potentially a good fit for your needs, we schedule an in-home Needs Assessment.

Step Two: Needs Assessment

During the Needs Assessment meeting, we examine the project area at your home and discuss the feasibility of various ideas relative to the structure. We’ll take notes, photos and measurements for reference. Back at the office, we’ll develop a customized scope and budget for achieving your goals. We’ll meet, review the information and confirm you have everything you need to make a good decision about how to proceed. When you are ready to bring your vision to life, we’ll create a Design Proposal to put design work in motion.

Step Three: Design & Planning

Collaborating with our Interior Designer, the Design and Planning phase starts with creating a 3D model of the space. This tangible representation allows you to clearly visualize design options. Throughout this phase, we guide you in making detailed decisions and approvals for various elements, from flooring to lighting and paint colors. This meticulous planning ensures that your precise vision is realized in transparency in the construction process. Upon completion of the design, we meet with a full team for on-site discovery, material takeoffs, bids, and design feedback, resulting in a precise construction proposal and a complete set of drawings.

Step Four: Construction

Our commitment to a positive project experience extends into the Construction phase. Before demolition starts, we introduce you to your project manager, your primary point of contact throughout construction. They manage materials, labor, inspections, and daily communication. A customized schedule ensures efficient and thorough work, minimizing disruption to your daily life. You’ll stay informed as your project moves from pre-construction meetings, through demolition/foundation work, framing/roofing, rough-ins, inspections, insulation, drywall, flooring, cabinetry/trim, painting, countertops/tile, finishing touches, professional cleaning, and final project photographs.

Step Five: Project Completion

As your project nears completion, our team conducts a thorough walkthrough with you to ensure satisfaction. We obtain a final building inspection, remove any remaining materials or debris and professionally clean the space. Our commitment extends beyond completion, with follow-up check-ins and a one-year warranty on all workmanship. Our goal is to maintain the client relationship well after the project concludes and we encourage you to stay in touch and allow us to address any questions or concerns.
